I switched my furlough day from today to last Friday…found out that the Nevada Museum of Art was not open on Monday & Tuesdays. So on Friday I went to see the Gee’s Bend Quilts with my mom. I wish we were allowed to take pictures…they were lovely. The best thing I liked about them…they were not perfect. They were useable works of art…no perfect points and no tiny stitches. I absolutely loved them.
Oh yeah…Raphael’s The Lady in the Veil was very pretty too! LOL!

White-Crowned Sparrow
Black-Throated Sparrow
Rufus-Crowned Sparrow (?)

And while taking a drive to Pyramid Lake we saw:
Prairie Falcons
White Pelicans
Horned Larks
and a bunch of Sparrows…they were flying too fast for me to see what types.

I finished the Hushabye Whirlygig/pinwheel quilt…and I just love how it turned out. Will make a great baby girl quilt…I’m thinking of putting it up for sale on etsy.

Just a few pictures of Lucy for “awwww…what a sweet kitty” effect.

Oh, look at pretty Lucy! What a love.
I absolutely adore that quilt! Those fabrics are so pretty, and I love the backing! Terrific job!
Does your mockingbird sing?
It sings very lovely…
That quilt is beautiful!
