For Today ~ 02 Sept 2008 ~ Simple Woman’s Daybook

I missed yesterday ~ so will post today.

FOR TODAY … 02 September 2008

Outside My Window…A BEAUTIFUL CHILLY MORNING ~ lots of sunshine.

I am thinking…I’m still thinking of yesterday. What a glorious day. We had a “cool-down” of 30 degrees…went from nearly 100F to 62F (was in Virginia City yesterday!). I was nearly skipping like a school girl! I couldn’t stop grinning.

I am thankful for… Mom nature giving us a peeksee of Autumn.

From the kitchen… the makings for chicken tacos for tonight’s dinner.

I am wearing… Brown Irish linen tank, tan crop pants and berks.

I am creating… Still working on that wool wall hanging…and labels for the cold processed soaps I made in July.

I am going… …to get my car smog-checked after work. Need to get it registered.

I am reading… not sure what the name of the book is! It’s about 3 children going to Wales with their dad after their mom dies.

I am hoping… that my husband can find a job real quick as he is out of work again (please pray!)…I’m tired of the temporary jobs…as I’m sure he is too. We need a full-time permanent job for him! (He’s still working temp jobs…but at least he has one for the full week this week!)

I am hearing… The copier run…I’m having to copy class lecture notes…85 copies, double-sided, corner staple, 3-hole punched. WooWoo.

Around the house… I’m taking down all the “summer” decorations and putting up the Autumn ones. I cut the sunflowers down and placed them around the yard for the birds to eat. Cleaned up the garden…I’m down to just 3 squash plants, green onions, peppers, cucumbers, and pumpkins.

One of my favorite things… Is a cool sunny day with a slight breeze.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… Clean the floors and floor boards, then spray for spiders. I’ve been bitten again and this time I have a large red welt where the poison is, bloody wee arses!

Here is picture thought I’d share with you…

The Simple Woman is the original home of The Simple Woman's Daybook.

The Simple Woman’s Daybook will take place each Monday.

Here’s how to take part:

1. Write up and publish your journal page using the questions/picture ideasI have listed below onto your blog. Be as descriptive as you can! This makes it more interesting to your readers. (You may cut and paste them for the purpose to participate in The Simple Woman’s Daybook.)

2. Copy the “permalink” from your “The Simple Woman’s Daybook” post, not the link to the front page of your blog. This will make it much easier for others to find instead of looking through the entire list of entries at your blog for your “daybook”. This will save time for all of us.

3. Come back here and add your permalink to Mister Linky.

I'm Michelle and live in Northern Nevada ~ beautiful mix of high desert and the Sierra. While I work at the University, I'd rather take pictures, play with fountain pensioned ink, garden, cook, craft and make quilts. :)

  1. Duchess says:

Manpower. It’s temp but one of my friends just got hired full time at Copper b line thru them. UPS. Should be about to hire on extras for the holiday season. Will often keep workers. Wackenhut (don’t know if that’s spelled right) security is often looking. They do unarmed security for warehouses and offices ect. Brinks is often looking for drivers. It’s an armed possition.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you and if I come across other jobs I’ll pass them on.

  2. Manpower sucks…they are forever calling him after the work day has started and if calls back within 5 minutes they said you’re too late, we called someone else.

UPS is always in Renohelpwanted and RGJ but when you click on the link to fill out their application it says the only job openings are in Las Vegas and will not allow you to fill one out for the Sparks distribution center.
