Spent Sunday morning up at TTT ~ Tahoe Timber Trails (just north of Truckee off of 89) ~ helping the inlaws build up a barrier wall. Actually my husband helped…I took pictures of the birdies. There were Mountain Chickadees, Nuthatch, Downy Woodpecker, and Blue Jays.
And here is one of my Scrub Jays that live in my yard ~ he’s wanting to know where his goobers are. He looks a little cranky, eh? Well…he had every right to be so…as I was drinking a Sierra Nevada Ale instead of getting off my arse to throw the goobers.
The chickadees are my favorites. My brother found a baby one that couldn’t fly. We’d been seeing a bunch of them kicked out of the nest and dead. Elijah took him home and took care of him. That bird followed my brother everywhere.
Thank you for bringing back a memory.
🙂 How cute! Does he still take in stray critters?
