For Today ~ 12 January 2008 ~ Simple Woman’s Daybook

FOR TODAY … 12 January 2009 (it’s actually the 11th, I’ve Monday off) Forgot to post this yesterday…it’s the 13th now so I’ve got updates.

Outside My Window… Sunny, cold morning. A neighbor’s cat limping on three legs, looks like he hurt one paw. Poor kitty. Two very dirty windows…I’m in the living room and the two windows face into the alley…the previous owners put those black security bars on the outside…can figure out how to clean my windows. 😦

I am thinking… OMGosh…playoffs are almost over. Football is almost over. WAHHHHHH! Good thing hockey is still going. We need to go for a drive. My camera batteries are charged…we need a trip to Pyramid Lake, me thinks.

I am thankful for… my family and Mexican food.

From the kitchen… Last night I made “MM’s Favorite Sandwich” from The Pioneer Woman’s site…pretty tasty. Tonight is BBQ’d chicken and artichokes.

I am wearing… blue jeans, tennies, and a red waffle thermal shirt and an olive green sweatshirt…even sitting in the sun it’s dang cold in this house. I’d love to break into one of the three bloody chimneys in this house…how can a house have 3 chimneys and not one fireplace and/or stove?!!!

I am creating… Soy candles for a baby shower and a flannel patch quilt for the Kid’s Kottage.

I am going… to go for a drive to Pyramid Lake once my husband finishes up putting in a new drain in the bathroom sink. (Note: sink drain took longer than expected…well, longer than my husband expected. So no drive. Took a walk along the river and threw the frisbee around instead).

I am reading… nothing at the moment.

I am hoping… that nothing major is wrong with my car other than needing a tune up. (Note: big sigh…$700 later)

I am hearing… The Scrub Jays fighting the crows and blackbirds for the peanuts out front.

Around the house… soy wax and French Vanilla & Cream Cheese Frosting fragrance oil…with wee baby food jars. I’m making baby shower gifts.

One of my favorite things… a good honest mechanic.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… I’d like to crawl back into bed and wake up with a money tree growing in my backyard…but I’ll have to settle for quilting.

Here is a picture thought I’d share with you…

I forgot my camera at home so I’ll be right back with a picture…Last Thursday’s Sunrise (taken from my work window…looking over Pecole Baseball Field).

The Simple Woman is the original home of The Simple Woman's Daybook.

The Simple Woman’s Daybook will take place each Monday.

Here’s how to take part:

1. Write up and publish your journal page using the questions/picture ideasI have listed below onto your blog. Be as descriptive as you can! This makes it more interesting to your readers. (You may cut and paste them for the purpose to participate in The Simple Woman’s Daybook.)

2. Copy the “permalink” from your “The Simple Woman’s Daybook” post, not the link to the front page of your blog. This will make it much easier for others to find instead of looking through the entire list of entries at your blog for your “daybook”. This will save time for all of us.

3. Come back here and add your permalink to Mister Linky.

  1. Beautiful picture! You totally captured my feelings about sleeping AND a money tree!! 😀 Haha!

    Enjoy making candles! 🙂

  2. LOL! Your sunrise is better than mine from last week!

Fear not. You’ll hardly have time to miss football before NASCAR starts up again. That and hockey will keep me going until baseball season. 😉

  3. I love MM’s Favorite Sandwich! That one of those I Need Meat meals for me. I totaly sympathize on the car troubles. Ugg, nothing worse.
