FOR TODAY … 9 February 2009
Outside My Window… Dark…horizon has a purple glow…sky is white with blowing snow. It be chilly out there!
I am thinking… Stupid Nevada weather. 60F then 30F then 60F then 46F then 60F then 34F. Grrrrr. Thank goodness I don’t have fruit trees.
I am thankful for… my space heater, again. Heat my tootsies, please!
From the kitchen… a new recipe I tried from LAILA
~ Ground Meat Phyllo Pie. It was quite yummie! I added a salad of sliced cucumbers & red onions with garlic red wine vinegar.
I am wearing… blue jeans, tennies, fuzzy grey pullover with rolled neck.
I am creating… a quilt. I’m sketching an idea for a quilt using 1930’s reproduction fabrics.
I am going… to call my husband to thank him for washing the bed sheets…he’s not very good at laundry, but he trys.
I am reading… gardening books…and Hobby Farm magazine.
I am hoping… that my pepper seeds start to sprout. It’s a bit cold in our house and I keep moving them around to find a warm spot.
I am hearing… quiet. Nice quiet.
Around the house… A patched hole in the wall from the doorknob. Clean kitchen. New bird feeder to replace an old broken one. More cleaning/clearing of the flower beds.
One of my favorite things… snuggling under 4 quilts while it’s cold outside…hitting the alarm clock and telling it FIVE MORE MINUTES!
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… take down some quilt blocks to start fancy hand stitching and appliquing on them (crazy quilt blocks).
Here is a picture thought I’d share with you…
GLOBAL WARMING PROTEST!

The Simple Woman
is the original home of The Simple Woman's Daybook.
The Simple Woman’s Daybook will take place each Monday.
Here’s how to take part:
1. Write up and publish your journal page using the questions/picture ideasI have listed below onto your blog. Be as descriptive as you can! This makes it more interesting to your readers. (You may cut and paste them for the purpose to participate in The Simple Woman’s Daybook.)
2. Copy the “permalink” from your “The Simple Woman’s Daybook” post, not the link to the front page of your blog. This will make it much easier for others to find instead of looking through the entire list of entries at your blog for your “daybook”. This will save time for all of us.
3. Come back here and add your permalink to Mister Linky.
The snowmen are attacking! Run fer your lives…or at least grab a pot of hot water, whichever you like :).
