For Today ~ 23 February 2009 ~ Simple Woman’s Daybook

FOR TODAY … 23 February 2009

Outside My Window… Cool, cloudy, morning rain…snow up in the mountains…right where it needs to be. 🙂

I am thinking… there is so much running around in circles in my head it’s hard to say what is what at the moment. Will have to throw a monkey wrench in there to slow things down a bit.

I am thankful for… a roof over my head…that doesn’t leak! 🙂 My mom loaning me money to payoff a bill (that card was shredded to pieces a while ago, now the bill will be wiped clean).

From the kitchen… Hmmm…will be leftovers. I thought I printed out a parmesan chicken recipe from The Pioneer Woman’s website, but must not have. So I sorta made my own recipe up from what I could remember about hers. Was dang tasty with the baked potatoes.

I am wearing… blue jeans, tennies, burgundy long sleaved heavy tshirt.

I am creating… Still making crocheted cotton wash/dish cloths ~ but am also making a small quilted wall-hanging using 1930’s reproduction fabrics for a Spring Exchange I’m in. Also making some hammered copper pieces with glass beads.

I am going… take a deep breath and jump into more training here at work.

I am reading… gardening books, Hobby Farm Home, an old Ziggy book.

I am hoping… that my husband gets called for an interview very soon. He turned in his resume/app at a “job fair” for a civilian military contractor, the guy told him to be near his phone as he’ll definitely be calling.

I am hearing… Chatter from the office next door.

Around the house… plans for the garden and lists of plants. Trays of seedlings that have sprouted.

One of my favorite things… cutting out fabric and sewing them back together in a beautiful quilt.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… same as last week…quilting and wire wrapping/hammering.

Here is a picture thought I’d share with you…

Ok…I have a Duck Tail fetish…aren’t these the cutest duck butts?! I just LOVE the curls of a duck tail! These handsome fellows are from Gardnerville, NV…they were around during lunch on Friday.

The Simple Woman is the original home of The Simple Woman's Daybook.

The Simple Woman’s Daybook will take place each Monday.

Here’s how to take part:

1. Write up and publish your journal page using the questions/picture ideasI have listed below onto your blog. Be as descriptive as you can! This makes it more interesting to your readers. (You may cut and paste them for the purpose to participate in The Simple Woman’s Daybook.)

2. Copy the “permalink” from your “The Simple Woman’s Daybook” post, not the link to the front page of your blog. This will make it much easier for others to find instead of looking through the entire list of entries at your blog for your “daybook”. This will save time for all of us.

3. Come back here and add your permalink to Mister Linky.

  1. We have two ducks that wander between the lake behind our house and the one two streets over. They cut between my house and the neighbors, and even the horrible speeding drivers here will slow down and stop for them. I look forward to their return as that signals that this long, nasty winter is soon over :).

Prayers crossed on the hubby’s job search!

  2. Beautiful ducklings! It is rainy here today too! Thank you so much for your sweet comment this morning! You are so sweet, and you made my morning!

  3. Aww, love the duckies… and the curly tail feathers!

Fingers crossed that something develops for hubby’s work soon.

Are you going to put any of your crocheted dishclothes on Etsy? I love those things. 😉

  4. I wore my hair like the ducks behind in the 60’s. I envy how artistic you are. I could never make a quilt or beads. I love the quilt wall hangings. I saw one in church two weeks ago of the Lord’s Supper. It was more than beautiful. I hope you have a wonderful week. Doylene
