FOR TODAY … 16 March 2009
Outside My Window… Construction workers that must have turned off the water to our building. Grrrr…
I am thinking… Today is the first day by myself in this office since 2002…wah! Big Sigh. Good luck in your new position, Carla!
I am thankful for… That I can still give to charities. After watching the news last night about the St. Vincent’s food pantry and then Extreme Makeover: Home Edition with the Ruiz Family in El Paso, I went through my pantry and filled up to grocery bags to donate.
From the kitchen… I made chicken enchiladas last night, froze another batch for another day. In the crock-pot I have a corned beef in Guinness cooking today.
I am wearing… blue jeans, tennies, black turtleneck.
I am creating… Still hand stitching on my 10 blocks of a crazy quilt…have four more to go.
I am going… to call IT when I’m done here to get them to transfer my email and whatnot over to the new desk when I’m done here. And to google asparagus…I’ve never planted it before and for the life of me, I can’t figure which side is up! LOL! Don’t want to plant it upside down.
I am reading… Nothing at the moment.
I am hoping… That everyone that is looking for a job, finds one.
I am hearing… Different sounds than if I were here at my regular time…since I’m the only one left in my office, I have to work 8-5…I’m hoping not for long though. I want to go back to 7-4. So, I hear students and more lab folks.
Around the house… Clean sheets, clean rugs, clean clothes. 🙂 Newly planted outside the house…horseradish, blueberry bush, garlic, rosemary and another rhubarb plant. Soon to be asparagus too!
One of my favorite things… working in the yard.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… Quilting and yard work.
Here is a picture thought I’d share with you…

House on Millionaire’s Row (1870’s…rebuilt after the great fire of 1875) in Virginia City, NV.
The Simple Woman’s Daybook will take place each Monday.
Here’s how to take part:
1. Write up and publish your journal page using the questions/picture ideasI have listed below onto your blog. Be as descriptive as you can! This makes it more interesting to your readers. (You may cut and paste them for the purpose to participate in The Simple Woman’s Daybook.)
2. Copy the “permalink” from your “The Simple Woman’s Daybook” post, not the link to the front page of your blog. This will make it much easier for others to find instead of looking through the entire list of entries at your blog for your “daybook”. This will save time for all of us.
3. Come back here and add your permalink to Mister Linky.
