I’ve been planning my garden and called UNCE the other day to find out when the annual plant sale was ~ MAY 16!!!! Yippie!
Mark your calendars! 16 MAY 2009 ~ 7:00 am – 11:30 am.
Here’s a link to the Washoe County - Reno Calendar
.
In case you’ve never been ~ (shaking head) ~ there usually are more than 3,000 plants for sale that our area Master Gardeners have grown themselves throughout the year. Included are plants such as HEIRLOOM tomatoes (these are soooooooo good! My mom bought one last year and I plan on buying a few this year), vegetables, herbs, ornamental grasses, annual & perennial flowers, shrubs, grapes and other berry plants ~ in 4″ and 1-gallon sizes.
There are usually a few of the Master Gardeners of Nevada
on hand to answer questions.
Get in line early…bring containers and bags, although they usually have flats for you to use.
Address is 5305 Mill Street
, Reno, NV (between Rock & McCarran).

Last year's herbs, veggies, and flowers!
Last year I bought 4 different tomato plants (Black Russian, Black Japanese, Belgium something, and a Yellow Plum), 3 Basil plants (Cinnamon, Lime, and regular), 2 rhubarbs, clary sage, borage, parsley, 2 hollyhocks, 2 Irish bells.
Master Gardener Plant Sales are the best!
Blessings,
Lorilee
