I was watching Prairie Home Companion last night (for the umpteenth time) and for some reason started tearing up when they started singing Red River Valley. It’s one of my favorite songs that Marty Robbins sang…I wore out his Gunfighter Ballad records when I was a kid. Thought I’d share a video I found on youtube.
My Weeping Cherry made it through all the temperature changes of Nevada’s Springtime. The blossoms are starting to open!

Such pretty blossoms! How wide across are they?
Beautiful! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a weeping cherry before, but now I definitely wish I had the room to plant one.
The weeping cherry is so pretty. We had a cold snap too! I had to put a blanket over the chicks’s box!
Blessings,
Lorilee
Sharon…the blossoms aren’t all that big…it’s just that there are about 15-20 all bunched up together.
When fully opened I think they’ll be a bit bigger than 3/4″.
Oh…poor wee chickies. They’re soo cute! Wish I lived nearby for the fresh eggs!
I don’t think the weeping cherries are fast growers…but when full-size, boy-howdy!
The weeping cherry is a Snow Fountain with white flowers and will grow only to about 12′-15′ high.
Thanks for the Lyle Lovett and Marty Robbins tunes. Mmmm, boy! That’s good music.
🙂 Thank you Sunny!
