For Today ~ 04 May 2009 ~ Simple Woman’s Daybook

FOR TODAY … 4 May 2009

Outside My Window… Couldy and grey sky. Looks like it still may want to rain a bit. A big ole crane! The construction guys are putting steel framing into place. The two buildings are going up fast!

I am thinking… I need to take something for my headache. I think the stress is getting to me as my throat is starting to hurt a bit. 😦

I am thankful for… my job, even though it’s been crazy here.

From the kitchen… We had leftover porkchops and rice last night. Tonight I’m going to make the Rhubarb Orange Almond Cake that is on the Mennonite Girls Can Cook blog.

I am wearing… Blue jeans, 3/4 sleaved maroon shirt, tennis shoes, hair pulled back into a ponytail.

I am creating… Nothing…

I am going… To run over to the Dean’s Office…paper work, always paper work.

I am reading… The Secret Life of Bees still…almost done.

I am hoping… My constant wish ~ That everyone that is looking for a job, finds one.

I am hearing… The construction guys pumping concrete to make the foundation of the breeze way that will contect our building to the new buildings.

Around the house… dust bunnies.

One of my favorite things… Snuggled deep in my quilts listening to the rain on the back patio that has a corrugated metal roof.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… work, sleep, worry about work, water my yard and garden, work, more worrying, pray to God to take the worrying away.

Here is a picture thought I’d share with you…

Some of the books I got at the Friends of the Library sale on Sunday…a bag of books for $6.

The Simple Woman is the original home of The Simple Woman's Daybook.

The Simple Woman’s Daybook will take place each Monday.

Here’s how to take part:

1. Write up and publish your journal page using the questions/picture ideasI have listed below onto your blog. Be as descriptive as you can! This makes it more interesting to your readers. (You may cut and paste them for the purpose to participate in The Simple Woman’s Daybook.)

2. Copy the “permalink” from your “The Simple Woman’s Daybook” post, not the link to the front page of your blog. This will make it much easier for others to find instead of looking through the entire list of entries at your blog for your “daybook”. This will save time for all of us.

3. Come back here and add your permalink to Mister Linky.

  1. Stop all that worrying and your stress and headache will go away. Change what you can. Fix what you can. Let the rest roll off of you. Spend more time in your garden. 😀

  2. Hey, I am so glad you liked the cake on Mennonite Girls Can Cook. I am no longer a contributer due to my busy work schedule but our administrator kindly forwards any comments on my previous post. I am on a coffee break and looking over your site. love it….you are such a creative person and your blog is beautiful.

  3. I second the more time in the garden prescription and would like to add a bubbel bath. It’ll turn around and mellow out. Mental hugs
