For Today ~ 18 May 2010 ~ Simple Woman’s Daybook

FOR TODAY … 18 May 2010

Outside My Window… Sunshine, partly cloudy, windy, cold. Grrrrr.

I am thinking… Not much. Too much going on at work. Brain hurts. Eyes are blood shot. Shoulders are knotted.

I am thankful for… A roof over my head, food on the table, abundance of fabric to fondle. 🙂

From the kitchen… Taco Tuesday! Making Carnitas tacos tonight. My favorite.

I am wearing… Jeans, tennies, and a long sleeved heavy cotton shirt, hair up in a ponytail.

I am creating… Quilts…and more quilts. I’m working on a color challenge; a block challenge where they give you a piece of fabric and you make a block; my niece’s quilt; and just a quilt that I made for the heck of it!

I am going… look into renting a car just for the heck of it. Maybe we’ll go drive somewhere. Like a Dodge Charger. I don’t think they rent a new Mustang, but that would be fun to drive.

I am reading… Hobby Farm Home magazine and picture gazing (insert: eye-popping and drooling) at the Hancock’s of Paducah fabric magazine.

I am hoping… that the weather man is WRONG and it’s NOT going to RAIN this weekend! Bloody arse!

I am hearing… Co-workers talking, bloody phone ringing off the hook, ice machine, doors slamming.

Around the house… Dusting. Took a picture and saw lots of dust-bunnies-to-be.

One of my favorite things… no noise. Just quiet. Maybe I should rephrase that…no VOICES. No Talking. Me thinks some people would EXPLODE if they couldn’t talk…listen to me listen to me!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… Quilt.

Here is a picture thought I’d share with you…

Block for Ben Franklin Crafts…we received the cream with wee flowers fabric…then you just make a block with that being the dominate fabric. Sometimes I think they go…”Oh No! Not her again. She NEVER makes a traditional block for us!” 🙂

  1. Great block! Very nice!

I was reading HFH myself early this morning. 🙂

You mentioned bloodshot eyes, and I pictured the Tasmanian Devil from Bugs Bunny. If your co-workers don’t straighten up, that just might happen… 😀

    Happy quilting, girlie!

  2. I like that block. I could do that!

Talking doesn’t bother me much unless call lights are going off and not being answered. Then I get a little peeved.
