I’m joining in on Elizabeth’s (Oh, Fransson!) Sparkle Punch Quilt-along.
Posts will appear over a 5 week period without a specific timeline on completion…just a tutorial on how to make the quilt.
This is Elizabeth’s quilt up on her design wall…(posted on her blog 14 Dec 11: Sparkle Punch Quilt Piecing)
She had ask what material we were going to use…and I was thinking Camille Roskelley’s RUBY or Kate Spain’s TERRAIN. But was going through my stash last night and pulled out these instead.
1930’s Reproductions!
Oh very cool!!
Yes, may as well use those 30s Repros on this since you won’t be using them in Farmers Wife LOL!
However, I like the idea of Terrain in that too. π
Can’t wait to see it come together!
Wow you are really cranking out the projects! I love vintage looking fabric. I can’t wait to see it finished.
Blessings,
Lorilee
Clever design that Sparkle Punch quilt. Not sure about the little orphan points around the edges though. I’d consider replacing them with a plain background block.
I agree, K. I was also thinking about adding some negative white spaces throughout the quilt.
Love that quilt …. I’ve been thinking about joining the quilt along too. I love the fabrics you’ve chosen…. It will have a real vintage feel.
Thank you! I can’t wait to see everyone’s quilts.
I’m thinking I might join too but I’ll be a late starter as my house guest arrives next week and the sewing machine has been packed away. I’m thinking this could be a good design for a scrappy. Pink stars on a mauve background maybe … If I have enough pink. Must have a dig in the scrap box.
The great thing about this quilt-along is there are no time constraints! π
I’ve been using up my 1930’s scraps & FQ’s…it’s an excellent way to use up fabrics.
