Ranunculus…or how I spell (and say) it…Rah-noch-u-less-ess-ess-es

I planted a few ranunculuses on Easter…it was a beautiful day! Sunny and warm. Can’t wait until it stays sunny and warm (not hot) but we have another blast of winter heading our way. 😦

I'm Michelle and live in Northern Nevada ~ beautiful mix of high desert and the Sierra. While I work at the University, I'd rather take pictures, play with fountain pensioned ink, garden, cook, craft and make quilts. :)

  1. Beautiful! However one pronounces it… ;-p

  2. They rival roses in their beauty! But I’d like to know who named them that!

    • LOL! After you wrote that I had to go look…latin being “frog”, as they grew close near water. And a very cool Native American myth has Coyote throwing his eyes up in the air over and over again until an eagle caught them and flew away. Coyote then took two ranunculus to create his new eyes.

  3. One of my favorite flowers! I wanted them for our wedding, but it wasn’t the right season. You’ll have to let me know how they grow!

  4. Colleen says:

Absolutely stunning! That first picture takes my breath away!
