Ours bloomed weeks ago and then we had freezing night time weather and frost for about a week and no more lilac blooms — in fact no more blooms on anything. We’ve had unusually strong winds that blew all the tulips petals away and the brown, dried up petals on all the fruit trees are gone…
Yes, I was holding my breath on the lilacs and pear tree blossoms as we had a freeze and wind storm not too long ago. But they waited until it was all over before fully blossoming out. 🙂
that first photo is a real stunner! what photo editing software/website do you use? it’s just heavenly. i’m pinning it! ps. have you ever heard the song ‘lilac wine’ by nina simone (jeff buckley does a great version too.) often when i smell lilacs i begin to feel drunk on scent, and that song kinda sums it up for me. 🙂
When I bought my iPad my friend gave me a list of apps that I should “look” over…pixlr-o-matic was one of them! I have it both on my iPad and my iMac here at work. I think there are all sort of versions of it.
The first lilac is just run through “metallic” and that’s it. I love that filter.
Thanks! there are so many apps out there…so when I see something I like, I have to ask. I guess I also should have asked what type of camera are you using?
I bought myself a Panasonic Lumix FZ150 when Sears had it on sale earlier this year….absolutely LOVE it.
I love your lilacs! The ones down here have bloomed too.
I’m working on your question still I am not ignoring you just been off the radar for awhile. Sorry.
Jen
That’s ok…I figured you have been pretty busy!
