Back in March I bought a wee Hobonichi Techo (A6 in size) that I decided to use as an art journal. I haven’t sketched or painted in a long time and thought small would be good to get back in the swing of things. For the Mountain Chickadee I used a pencil, Zig & Micron pigment pens, Akashiya Sai watercolor pen brushes, and liquid frisket…and the photograph I took of a Mountain Chickadee.
The chickadee doesn’t have a halo, parts of the Stargate, from the other side, bled through the paper…guess I got a little heavy handed with the paint.
Still rusty at painting, but I think he’s cute. 🙂
Perhaps if you only use one side of the paper and place wax paper in between when you are drawing. It might help with bleed thru.
Anyway your drawings are great.
I think I may do one painting in a spread…coming in on April with techo, there’s lots of pages to spare! Good idea!
Your skills are coming back fast!!
Also, I like the Stargate halo.
