Hannah’s First Snowboarding Lesson

This is a video montage of Hannah’s (my niece) first snowboarding lesson up at Alpine Meadows over the holiday. Her dad didn’t quite know how do to use the video on his new phone so some of it is washed out. 🙂

You did a great job, GIRLIE! Love You!

2010 WORLD CHAMPS!!!! Congrats SF Giants!!! :)

WooooWeee! I’m pretty sure my friend, April, in Michigan heard me on Wilson’s last strike out! And I heard her! Thankies for staying up with me, girlie!

I love these guys! Every single one of them! The thing I love the most about them? Not one of them is a Barry Bonds! THEY ARE A BUNCH OF UNIQUE, QUIRKY, LOVEABLE INDIVIDUALS THAT PLAY AS A TEAM OF ONE! Thank you Brian Sabean & Bruce Bochy!

Congrats Edgar on MVP!

Thanks for a wonderful season! Can’t wait for the parade on Wednesday!

PS: I can’t WAIT to see Rob Schneider, run around North Beach in nothing but a SF Giants RALLY thong and a FEAR THE BEARD! I heard him tell F.P. Santangelo, on CSN Bay Area Sports, that if the Giants win…that is what he was going to do!

FOR TODAY … 01 November 2010

Outside My Window… Sun is peeking up over the eastern hills onto The Sierras. The snow on Mt. Rose is very pretty this morning.

I am thinking… WHAT A GREAT GAME LAST NIGHT! MadBum pitched an awesome game, Freddy was just as great! Tonight is the Night, Boys!

My poor Buffalo Bills are 0-7! We lost another game in overtime! UGH! I guess I can look at this way…we have a perfect season so far! DOH!

I am thankful for…Friends, home, and yes…family too. 🙂

From the kitchen…a pizza! Game Five of the World Series is on!

I am wearing… Jeans, tennies, grey 3/4-sleaved shirt, hair down.

I am creating… Let see…I’ve cut the material, sewed it into blocks and get this! Just cut them into quarters and am in the process of sewing them back into blocks again! LOL! Just love quilting.

I am going…to go find some chocolate. Shouldn’t be too hard being the day after Halloween!

I am reading…Michael Perry’s Population: 485. Meeting Your Neighbors One Siren at a Time

I am hoping…I can survive this week at work.

I am hearing… Me grinding my teeth.

Around the house…laundry down in the basement and Halloween stuff to take down.

One of my favorite things…listening to Brian Wilson give an interview.

Giants Video The video is marked 10.31: World Series Game 4 Postgame — Brian Wilson (off on the right hand side between Madison & Buster).

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… to just get through the week. 🙂

Here is a picture thought I’d share with you…This tree has been growing in the southwest part Washoe Valley for over 30 years (it was there when we moved out there in 1980). I think it’s on part of the List Ranch property. Here it is in all it’s Autumn Glory yesterday!

Tuesday’s Rambles ~ 26 October 2010

First Baseball! 🙂

~ Tomorrow the World Series starts! GO GIANTS!!!!  Good Luck guys!

~ Still shaking my head about hearing Tim McCarver call Jeremy ‘AFLAC’ instead of Affeldt. Did he just say Aflac?! He’s a strange man.

~ Miss you Kruk & Kuip! More than you’ll ever know!

~ CSN Bay Area Sports Giants VideosI swear the best postgame interview was with Sergio Romo. He’s off on the right hand side (about 5 rows down)…between Freddy and Brian. That is one excited guy…haven’t seen a guy giggle like a little kid in quite a while. (10.23: NLCS Game 6 Postgame – Sergio Romo)

*******************

~ Started cutting out a new quilt.

Using Allison’s of Cluck.Cluck.Sew. All Patched Up pattern. I pulled out two Layered Cakes that I’ve had in my stash ~ Cotton Blossoms fabric by Bonnie & Camille for Moda.

*****************

~ I had to scrape the frost off of my car windows this morning! WOO HOO!

~ Bruce Willis still has it. John Malkovich is just plain crazy. Helen Mirren lovely, and badass, as always. Saw Red over the weekend. Loved it.

*****************

Some autumn leaves above the Truckee River.

This is one of my favorite condo buildings in downtown Reno…it’s right on the Truckee River across from Wingfield Park.

~ Sunday it rained and rained and rained…mostly horizontally, as the winds were very strong.

*****************

~ Picked up a few more Michael Perry books after reading Coop…started reading Population: 485 – Meeting your Neighbors One Siren at a Time. Also have Truck: A Love Story, Off Main Street: Barnstormers, Prophets & Gatemouth’s Gator, and Why They Killed Big Boy.

Ashkon: Don’t Stop Believing ~ SF Giants 2010 Anthem Video

I heard Jim Rome talking about the different fan videos…but today was the first I saw ours (SF Giants).

Too Much AWESOME in this video! 🙂

On a side note: GO TEXAS! Would love to see a Giants & Rangers World Series.

FOR TODAY … 19 October 2010

Outside My Window… It’s pretty dark out. Godzilla could be out there and I’d not know it…well…ok, I’d know that Godzilla was out there.

I am thinking… Why are we having a 1 pm game in San Francisco?! What’s wrong with 4 or 5 pm? Is that too late for you all back east to stay up?! Am extremely grateful that the Marlins didn’t want Cody Ross anymore and that we were selfish in not wanting the Padres to have him! I’d definitely vote him MVP of the series with Philly!

What a jackass! “Baltimore Ravens LB Ray Lewis was pretty steamed about their overtime loss to the Patriots Sunday, and he made it clear that he and his fellow teammates plan to take it out on the Bills this Sunday.” ~ Oh! That’s a big man! Pick on my Bills who are 0-5! Idiot. May Buffalo WIN THEIR FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON AGAINST YOU! HA!

I am thankful for… for my friend, April. I wish you lived closer.

From the kitchen… Leftover homemade beef stew…with maters, taters, onions, celery, parsnips and carrots.

I am wearing… Jeans, tennies, brown t-shirt, hair in a ponytail.

I am creating… I finished the flannel lap quilt that will be donated. It’s soooo warm and fuzzy.

I think I may try this quilt next, from Cluck.Cluck.Sew. I have a jelly roll of Lila Tueller’s EDEN just waiting to be made into a quilt! 🙂

I am going… to turn on the space heater under my desk…just got some goose bumps on my arms!

I am reading… I finished Coop: A Family, a Farm, and the Pursuit of One Good Egg by Michael Perry. I LOVED THAT BOOK! Am going to stop by Sundance Book Store on the way home and check to see if they have any more of his books.

I am hoping… that ORANGE & BLACK rules throughout OCTOBER! GO GIANTS!

I am hearing… Always the same…ice machine, hvac, doors slamming, phones ringing.

Around the house… laundry needs to be done. I actually threw all my clothes down the basement stairs this morning.

One of my favorite things… my alone time.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… to just get through the week. 🙂

Here is a picture thought I’d share with you… a picture I took on Sunday while roaming around the Ferrari Farm.

Two pictures…just because they make me smile! 🙂 Can’t remember, but I think they are Getty pictures.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Check out Blaze Bratcher’s new Store Front…she has some amazing watercolours! I’m saving my money up for the My Quilt II print. Blaze is a great artist ~ SUPPORT HER! 🙂
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I made 3 quarts and 6 pints of Purple Tomatillo Salsa on Sunday while listening to game 3 of the Giants & Braves. My sister grew some tomatillos so I can make salsa for my BIL. 🙂 Has a nice purple tint to the salsa, eh? I used last years RECIPE, the one from New Mexico State University. Only this time I added some serrano peppers to the mix…and roasted the tomatillos and peppers before putting them through the food processor! 🙂

Sunday, after church, we drove over to Ferrari Farms along the Truckee River on Mill Street.

Isn’t she a cutie-patootie?

My two itty-bitty pumpkins I bought at Ferrari Farms…next to a bowl I painted a few years back.
