Batik Flying Geese Quilt

Batik Geese Quilt

Batik Geese Quilt

I finished the quilt for a graduate student in my department…she spins and dyes her own yarn and knits beautiful things, so we’re exchanging our crafts.

Here’s the quilt from beginning to end.

I pin my quilts…not a big fan of spray basting only because I get more on me than the quilt.

Batik Labyrinth Quilt Top ~ all finished!

I had a furlough day on July 15th and took a class from Sherry, at Windy Moon Quilts, on The Labyrinth. HERE is the pattern…Sherry adapted it to a lap quilt size.

I finished it on Friday ~

Just have to sandwich, quilt, and bind it now. 🙂

For Today ~ 07 November 2011 ~ Simple Woman’s Daybook

FOR TODAY … 07 November 2011.

Outside My Window… Big ole clouds set against blue sky. Traffic driving by. Leafless trees. Grasses blowing…must be a breeze out there.

I am thinking… life’s too short to worry about other people’s prespective of you.

I am thankful for… my friends…they keep me grounded.

From the kitchen… Leftovers from last night…Leek Potato Artichoke Casserole.

I am wearing… jeans, tennis shoes, a grey fuzzy sweater.

I am creating… finished quilting the ocean quilt.

I am going… to have lunch with two coworkers today…it’s definitely a soup type of day.

I am reading… the new Mary Jane’s Farm magazine.

I am hoping… my friend April gets well soon, she’s under the weather. That my dad’s procedure this Friday goes well! He’s getting antsy, just wants it over and done with already. 🙂

I am hearing… copier machine, traffic from outside, phones.

Around the house… a few leaves that need raking up. Nothing much.

One of my favorite things… snuggling under a bunch of quilts, with only your nose sticking out, while it’s cold outside.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… get ready for a small craft fair, touch up the paint to the bathroom moulding, plan a lunch menu for 12 ladies here at work, continue quilting.

Here is a picture thought I’d share with you…

A scrub jay in my side yard.
