Tuesday’s Rambles ~ 12 October 2010

YEA GIANTS!!!!!!!! What an awesome game last night guys!!!! Thanks Cody, you were AWESOME! Maddie! And Thank You BRIAN for that ‘I Can’t Watch the Ninth Inning!’…I was peeking through my fingers like I do on some horror films!

Two pictures…just because they make me smile! 🙂 Can’t remember, but I think they are Getty pictures.

Check out Blaze Bratcher’s new Store Front…she has some amazing watercolours! I’m saving my money up for the My Quilt II print. Blaze is a great artist ~ SUPPORT HER! 🙂

I made 3 quarts and 6 pints of Purple Tomatillo Salsa on Sunday while listening to game 3 of the Giants & Braves. My sister grew some tomatillos so I can make salsa for my BIL. 🙂 Has a nice purple tint to the salsa, eh? I used last years RECIPE, the one from New Mexico State University. Only this time I added some serrano peppers to the mix…and roasted the tomatillos and peppers before putting them through the food processor! 🙂

Sunday, after church, we drove over to Ferrari Farms along the Truckee River on Mill Street.

Isn’t she a cutie-patootie?

My two itty-bitty pumpkins I bought at Ferrari Farms…next to a bowl I painted a few years back.

For Today ~ 4 October 2010 ~ A Simple Woman’s Daybook

FOR TODAY … 04 October 2010

Outside My Window… Still pretty dark out there. BUT IT’S RAINING! It’s been raining for TWO WHOLE DAYS! WOW! Mom Nature saved up all of the rain we didn’t get all summer long and is dumping it on us in TWO DAYS!

I am thinking… YEA SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS!!!!! WOOO HOOOO!!!! But goodness! Did you all HAVE TO take it the very last game of the season to wrap up the West Division?! HOLY COW! I have to wait until Thursday to watch you play again! ACK! I pray that Fox Sports will NOT have the games…absolutely HATE their commentators. KRUK & KUIP ALL THEY WAY BABY!

GREAT HIGHLIGHTS of yesterday’s game! ~ Absolutely love watching Buster bounce up behind Brian on the mound! LOL!

We went to the Eagles concert on Friday…3 hours of GREAT MUSIC…but then no encore! No goodbyes! The strobe fire alarms were going off. Sheesh. Not how I wanted it to end, but I must say…AWESOME! Don Henley is still DA BOMB! Glen & Timothy still sound good. And Joe? Joe is still crazy! ROFL!

I am thankful for… for my friends. That I have friends and co-workers that think of me enough that they would loan me money for a down payment on a car. That still blows me away. Makes me cry all over again.

From the kitchen… It’s MNF night…have no clue who is playing, but it will be someone else that will be making my dinner. Round Table pizza or Giant Burger falafels. 🙂

I am wearing… Jeans, tennies, SF Giants pullover hoodie, hair in a ponytail.

I am creating… I’ll be finishing up a quilt that I missed the deadline for a craft challenge. This one I will look into donating to the 4th Street charity where they give items to the kids living in those run-down motels in Reno. So many kids are so close to being homeless here in our town.

I am going… start putting some stuff onto ebay again. Went through the boxes in the basement. Have a pile to donate, sell, and keep. Now I need to go through the keep pile and start the process all over again.

I am reading… The book that I picked up at Sundance Bookstore
Coop: A Family, a Farm, and the Pursuit of One Good Egg by Michael Perry. I love this book!

I am hoping… Still hoping for a mend to April’s ribs. Hopefully she makes it into work today.

I am hearing… Air unit just kicking on, ice machine, me typing, Nickelback in the computer’s cd player.

Around the house… dishes in the sink, a floor that needs to be swept and mopped.

One of my favorite things… Falling off to sleep listening to rain, then being woken with a great big bolt of lightning and a KABOOM of thunder!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… Finish a quilt. Find a place to take my damaged Saturn.

Here is a picture thought I’d share with you…

Purely Fluff Post…Poll for my new SF Giants Jersey

11 Sept 2010 Update Note: After talking with a MLB mom (co-worker is mom to a pitcher on the Brewers) she suggested buying a team shirt not one with a name. Too many trades. 🙂 So last night I bought a black & orange hooded pullover sweathirt. But…me thinks I’ll still get a Buster & Wilson t-shirt for next summer’s games at Pac Bell (errr…AT&T) Park. Will have to get an orange one for Friday games too!

Geez…already has cat fur all over it!

As I said above…this is a purely fluff post.

Am taking a poll on which jersey I should get! I’ve a $100 AT&T card that is burning a hole in my wallet (I bundled my wireless and internet together not too long ago)…and I’ve decided to get myself a San Francisco Giants home jersey.

San Francisco Giants Home Jersey

I’ve narrowed it down to three players…which one do you think I should get?

#1 Brian Wilson, Closer.

Brian Wilson

I love this guy! Brian has taken the place in my heart that Robb Nen held for many years. The thrill of the ninth inning and holding a lead. Hell, sometimes I would turn the game on in the last inning (or the Nenth Inning) just to see if Robb was closing! 🙂 Brian is exciting to watch…and terrifying…strike out, walk, strike out, PLEASE LORD STRIKE OUT!

#2 Buster Posey , Catcher.

Buster, Buster, Buster! What can I say? I…ummm…have a thing about catchers. Catcher thighs…they do me in every time. Started when I was a kid…Steve Yeager, Johnny Bench, Mike Piazza, Thurman Munson, Damon Berryhill.

And can we say ROOKIE OF THE YEAR???!!!! AMEN! Excellent catcher, great arm, great leader! And he’s only 23 years old. May you have a long and wonderful career kiddo!

#3 Pat Burrell, Outfielder.

I told my friend, April, that this one is just pure unadultarated lust. I can not lie. Luckily, Pat is a great outfielder…can’t run fast around the bases, but if he hits home runs and doubles it really doesn’t matter. 🙂

Honorable mentions are Freddy Sanchez (infielder) and Andres Torres (outfielder). Both are equally great fielders and hitters, am very glad we have them! I may have to move them up to #4 & #5!!!
