FOR TODAY … 19 March 2012.
Outside My Window… Lots of traffic. High clouds with a bit of blue sky.
I am thinking… I’m tired of my left foot hurting. The chiropractor said its my plantar fascia that is inflamed. All I know is it hurts like hell and I want it to stop.
I am thankful for… April, who I’m sending a long distance hug to.
From the kitchen… I’ll probably make pizza tonight. There’s a chicken breast left in the freezer so will make a chicken pizza with garlic olive oil sauce.
I am wearing… jeans, tennis shoes, a black mock turtleneck.
I am creating… Still working on the Nevada quilt, I have the state finished along with 3 stars, some geese and a few other odds and ends. See the state below.
I am going… to have to take a few days off of work to finish painting the inside of the house. I had to call it quits after my hand died, still have some trim and touch ups to do in a few rooms. Also, I definitely picked out the wrong color for the living room…the living room will probably go to a neutral color as the sea foam is just not working in such a large room, great for a bedroom, just not a huge room. Went to Lowes and bought Valspar’s Ultra Premium (one coat coverage) in Antique White.
I am reading… still reading a few stories a night from Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover’s Soul.
I am hoping… that the foot stops hurting, it’s been over a month already!
I am hearing… Construction trucks backing up beepers. A backhoe. Windows creaking. Traffic. Have I told you the insulation in this new building is really really really awful?
Around the house… Flower bulbs trying to bloom.
One of my favorite things… Laughing. Until it hurts. We rented The Rum Diary last night and there was one scene in which I had to pause it as I was laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe. My sides hurt soooo bad.
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… Work on the Nevada quilt. Plan a few days off to paint.
Here is a picture thought I’d share with you…
FOR TODAY … 12 March 2012.
Outside My Window… High, dark clouds (on one side) and blue sky (it’s Nevada)…a storm is moving in. Windy. Lots of traffic. Nelson Electric, Western Nevada Supply, and Q&D construction trailers.
I am thinking… I’d like to stop off at the Garden Shop to check out some seeds. Find some snap peas and a few other cool weather veggies. It’s really quiet here at work…the time change must not agree with the rest of my office mates.
I am thankful for… Friends.
From the kitchen… Something with chicken. Not sure what, but two chicken breasts are defrosting in the frig.
I am wearing… jeans, tennis shoes, a long-sleeved grey blouse.
I am creating… Last night I was cutting out 2.5″ squares of fabrics and sewing them together again…blues and greys. I designed a State of Nevada quilt for a coworker of my sister. She wants a 5’x5′ quilt and her only requirements was the State of Nevada on it and in blues and grey/silver.
I am going… have to figure out what type of dessert to bring to our St. Patrick’s luncheon.
I am reading… Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover’s Soul…a book I picked up from one of our thrift stores.
I am hoping… that it really doesn’t snow on the weekend. We have a parade to go to!
I am hearing… Traffic and me typing. IT’S SO FLIPPING QUIET HERE!
Around the house… Probably trash. Along with cig butts, our yard/drive is a magnetic for the trash that gets blown around as people seem to not know what the purpose of a trash can is.
One of my favorite things… Going to the movies after church. Can’t beat a $6 matinée! Yesterday’s theatre was filled with kids…we went and saw The Lorax. Excellent movie! 🙂
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week… Work on the Nevada quilt, figure out a St. Patrick’s dessert, arrange for a trip to the art museum to see the Tiffany Glass exhibit, start planning my garden.
Here is a picture thought I’d share with you…
We had a beautiful weekend here in Northern Nevada! 70 degrees and sunny on Easter Sunday ~ Who’d thunk it!?
Spent some time at Rancho San Rafael Park on Saturday throwing horse shoes (miserably I might add…more so than usual for me!), walking , taking pictures, and winning a game of cribbage.
I made that Christmas Ham of Paula Deen’s for Easter…love the orange marmalade & Dijon Mustard glaze…could have gone without the crust. Next time just the glaze. Very tasty ham.
The Mushroom & Asparagus salad that was in Raley’s Something Extra was VERY GOOD!
After church I made a mad dash to mom’s house to see the kiddo’s and my BIL’s sister’s daughter…Brooke is a cutie.
Some pictures from the weekend ~ First two from my front yard; rest from Rancho San Rafael park near UNR.
Easter pics of Nathan, Brooke and Hannah ~
