I finished the quilt for a graduate student in my department…she spins and dyes her own yarn and knits beautiful things, so we’re exchanging our crafts.
Here’s the quilt from beginning to end.

FOR TODAY … 12 May 2014
Outside My Window… Blue Blue Blue sky…breezy. Big piles of dirt the tonka toys keep moving around. They sure make a lot of money for just pushing piles of dirt from one end to the other. A Stellar Jay and Scrub Jay being chased by a dove…too funny.
I am thinking… nothing too deep. :p
I am thankful for… Long-time friends.
From the kitchen… Yesterday was a roasted chicken with a kale/broccoli salad and garlic bread. Tonight (after feeding him three meals) my husband’s friend is coming over and making his Puerto Rican chicken and rice & beans dish. He’s from PR and I love Caribbean food.
I am wearing… Tennis shoes, jeans, pretty blue print blouse.
I am creating… A lap quilt for a graduate student who is making me a scarf (she spins and dyes her own yarn). Here’s what I have up on the design wall so far:
I am going… to find some chocolate…there has to be some in this office somewhere.
I am reading… I started reading one of the free Nook books I downloaded…Child of the Ghosts by Jonathan Moeller. Not bad for a freebie.
I am hoping… My husband gets that part-time job that he was told about by one of his friends. Part-time is better than nothing, which is what he has now.
I am hearing… Someone brewing their coffee down the hall. Other than that, it’s pretty quiet here at work.
Around the house… Probably kitties napping in sunbeams…not home, so I’m taking a guess.
One of my favorite things… Flowers.
A Few Plans for the Rest of the Week…. Finish the batik geese quilt. Buy tickets for Godzilla! I get to see it twice! Regular one with my husband and friend (who don’t like 3D)…then how I really want to see it, 3D ATMOS with my sister and nephew.
Here is a few pictures thought I’d share with you…
Spent about 3 hours cleaning 25+ years of grime off the bricks of this fireplace at a friends “new” bar (bar is 60+ years old). So much more work to be done.
