First Baseball! 🙂

~ Tomorrow the World Series starts! GO GIANTS!!!!  Good Luck guys!

~ Still shaking my head about hearing Tim McCarver call Jeremy ‘AFLAC’ instead of Affeldt. Did he just say Aflac?! He’s a strange man.

~ Miss you Kruk & Kuip! More than you’ll ever know!

~ CSN Bay Area Sports Giants VideosI swear the best postgame interview was with Sergio Romo. He’s off on the right hand side (about 5 rows down)…between Freddy and Brian. That is one excited guy…haven’t seen a guy giggle like a little kid in quite a while. (10.23: NLCS Game 6 Postgame – Sergio Romo)

~ Started cutting out a new quilt.

Using Allison’s of Cluck.Cluck.Sew. All Patched Up pattern. I pulled out two Layered Cakes that I’ve had in my stash ~ Cotton Blossoms fabric by Bonnie & Camille for Moda.

~ I had to scrape the frost off of my car windows this morning! WOO HOO!

~ Bruce Willis still has it. John Malkovich is just plain crazy. Helen Mirren lovely, and badass, as always. Saw Red over the weekend. Loved it.

Some autumn leaves above the Truckee River.

This is one of my favorite condo buildings in downtown Reno…it’s right on the Truckee River across from Wingfield Park.

~ Sunday it rained and rained and rained…mostly horizontally, as the winds were very strong.

~ Picked up a few more Michael Perry books after reading Coop…started reading Population: 485 – Meeting your Neighbors One Siren at a Time. Also have Truck: A Love Story, Off Main Street: Barnstormers, Prophets & Gatemouth’s Gator, and Why They Killed Big Boy.

New Quilt in the Making…

It’s been a long hot summer…and it’s only mid August! UGH! I moved in July. Had a melt-down at work sometime before that….but I think that is happening about every other month now. Let’s just say I’ve been out of sorts lately.

But all will be well soon!

Yesterday I cut out 6″ squares out of at least 23 different fabrics in 1/4, 1/3, and 1/2 yards…also lots of white on white 6″ squares.

I cleaned my Janome’s bobbin area; put in a new needle; wound 4 bobbins of the thread I’ll be using; marked lines down the diagonal of the white squares!

I’m ready to start sewing tonight after I get off of work!

Makings of a Water Quilt ~ Fat Quarters to Date

I’m starting to collect fat quarters and 1/2 yards of whatever blue and green fabrics that catches my fancy to make a water/ocean quilt. It looks like I need more greens. Reno will be having a quilt show in June, so hopefully I will be able to collect more FQ’s.

The inspiration is from Jane Brocket’s ‘The Gentle Art of Quiltmaking’…front cover and on page 127, it’s called the Swimming Pool. Mine is not going to look exactly like it…but I am inspired by it. 🙂
