STOLEN ART ALERT – LISA KURT’S YETI PAINTING Virginia City, NV

image

From a friend who had her painting stolen up in Virginia City!!!!
LISA KURT, ARTIST IN RESIDENCE AT ST. MARY’S ART CENTER.

STOLEN PAINTING ALERT- Please Share!! I’m stunned and shaken to report that I’ve had yet another painting stolen in Northern Nevada. This time one of my paintings from my picture book project show at St. Mary’s St Marys Art Center in Virginia City, NV was taken sometime this last week between 4/25/2015 -4/30/2015. I wasn’t selling these pieces because they are part of my picture book artwork that I’ve been working on to get published. This is the second theft of my work in less than 4 months in Nevada. The Cosmonaut 64 painting has yet to be returned. **Please refrain from telling me this is a compliment or that I should be flattered- this is theft of my livelihood and personal property and it is unacceptable.
Please share this widely and help me get it returned. I just want the painting back- no questions asked.

It’s going to be a beautiful day for geocaching!

A Monday Ramble ~ 18 March 2013

Just a few rambles for this March Monday ~ 18 March 2013

I decided to finish my Denyse Schmidt quilt I started a month ago. Started out with a pile of charms I received from a Denyse Schmidt Charm Swap and with a few cuts from my own stash I went from this:

To a 60″x72″ quilt top ready to be sandwiched, quilted and bound.

But first I must wait to spring my new machine out of layaway prison (should anyone have any money burning a hole in their pocket…she’s sitting at Windy Moon Quilts! 😉 ).

Last week on Facebook I saw this MEYER LEMON LOAF recipe on Mennonite Girls Can Cook.

Oh My Word! It’s very tasty! My husband and I have almost polished off one loaf…I stuck the other on in the freezer.

My loaf isn’t as pretty as theirs…the pan I used was a bit bigger than what they suggested. Use the smaller loaf pan, it’ll look bigger. LOL!

Over the weekend we went to SWAN LAKE, in Lemmon Valley, to see if we could spy any birds. I walked along the Marsh boardwalk, but it was sorta of disappointing. Besides the sparrows and finches…we saw Mallards, Northern Harriers and Canada Geese. That’s it. I’ve been there before when there were quite a few swans and other water fowl.

Thursdays Rambles ~ 09 September 2010

First off…got out of the car at work this morning and looked up to the mountains.

Mt. Rose and Slide Mountain had a dusting of snow last night! 🙂

I went to bed last night (after a heart-wrenching lost for Zito…he really did pitch a good game last night!) feeling like it was closer to Halloween than it is. It was cold and breezy…loved it!

FOOTBALL starts tonight! Vikings and Saints! And…ah…GOOD LUCK to my BILLS this year!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the midst of September baseball…Giants have been chasing San Diego and the Phillies (now it’s the Braves, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!). Hopefully we can knock the Padres out of first and then not worry about chasing the Braves/Phillies anymore.
The Great Reno Balloon Race starts tomorrow! Lots of pretty balloons will be filling our skies in the mornings.
It’s APPLE HILL time, once again! Probably will head up at the end of September or maybe early October!
Nevada Humane Society volunteer orientation is coming up! If I can’t take another kitty home with me, I might as well love on them there.
I had to order Stephen King’s The Colorado Kid from Amazon. Sundance Books, here in Reno, tried to order it for me, but said it’s out of print and can’t get it for me. 😦 Haven, one of my favorite tv shows on SyFy, is loosely based on it. I want to know how it’s tied into the book…should be here by tomorrow.
2010 Garden Is FINALLY In! :)
I had to hold off on planting my garden this year due to a very cold and wet May…we were still having snow. Sheesh.
Today was 88F and very humid…29% humidity! You all in the south, just hush your mouth! That’s humid for us!
From the looks of it…most of my garden will make great Italian sauces! 🙂
In the first box I planted:
Brandywine Tomato
Black Prince – a Russian Heirloom
two types of garlic (planted last month)
Greek Oregano
Orange Bell Pepper
Sweet Basil
Flatleaf Italian Parsley
Second Box I planted:
2 Roma Tomatoes
Red Bell Pepper
German Thyme
Cayenne Pepper
Beebalm
Italian Flatleaf Parsley
2 Sweet Basils
Yellow Sweet Onions (planted 1 week ago)
In the Third Box I planted:
7 Yukon Potatoes (planted 2 weeks ago)
5 Purple Potatoes (planted 2 weeks ago)
Flatleaf Italian Parsley
2 Straightneck Squash (planted 1 week ago)
You can see the Rosemary I planted in a pot that I found in the trash the other day.
Here’s a closeup of the potatoes….
I still want to get two tomatillos, two cucumbers, one dill , and one green chile…those will go into containers.
