Western Pacific Railroad Museum ~ from a different view

We go up to Portola, CA to visit the WPRM quite a lot. Usually I post pictures of the whole engine or car, this time I figured I’d take a different view.

All taken yesterday, 3 April 2011:

Western Pacific Railroad Museum…train ride

Took my seven year old nephew up to Portola on Saturday for a train ride at the Western Pacific Railroad Musuem.

The cost is $5/person or $12/family of four. They hook up 3-4 cabooses for people to ride in and take you around the yard.

Lunch at Portola’s park (where the swim pool is) to throw some horse shoes and frisbee. Home to take a nap…we wore each other out pretty good. Capped off the evening with pizza, Toy Story 1, and many games of Wii golf, baseball, and bowling.

Western Pacific Railroad Museum Kitty ~ Zephyr

We like to go to Portola’s Western Pacific Railroad Museum quite a bit…and there’s a cat that I always see roaming the rail yard. She’s very friendly and loves her belly rubbed. 🙂

Here she was last October…the first time I met her…she followed me around the yard while I was taking pictures.

This was Zephyr back in April, sunning herself on a cold, sunny April afternoon…

And here is how we found her on Memorial Day (30 May 2010)…in a construction cone next to the old GMC SP Fire Truck.
